Post 18, on a Leap Year to boot.

Can you imagine, 17 posts and the fcc hasn't found us yet? I love a parade. 17 rules.

Well the swell's still big and KDog won't take me out. Surfing. I'm starting to personalize this. I think he doesn't want to be shown up by my innate athletic abilities. Moreover, he doesn't want to look bad in front of the surfing community of "Braahs". I'm telling you, it's harder to join this community than becoming a jew. I haven't ruled out either at this point in my development.

Big swell. Who knew? I guess I'll just have to eat oysters and drink champagne. The things we do.

Happy Leap Year. Leap on something.

Civilization. At Costco.

There is beauty all around us. It's just a matter of opening our eyes and minds at the same time. I'm finding beauty in colors lately, I'm enjoying chocolate and pink, and am moving to black and red. I'm not sure where all this is going but I'll figure it out. Oh, right, beauty. I found beauty in the back of a Chevy Tahoe today.

The things we do for love. My love for the Oscars and my friend Shane know no bounds. Both hold special places in my heart and both deserve to be celebrated. We're toasting Shane's BDay and the Oscars with food and wine. The meal we are having on Sunday to christen Bob the table will be sung about for years to come. The planning is nominal, the organizing is a pain. But we make do and always find our way to Costco. Costco on the weekends is a kick in the teeth, but if you get in there early enough, you can do your business without too much pain.

In the parking lot I found a silver Chevy Tahoe with this on his bumper where rednecks usually have a trailer hitch. I thought this a necessity for the next Jimmy Buffet/Dave Matthews/Phish/Neil Diamond Concert-Tailgating we go to. The last time I tailgated was with Jo Jo in Hartford. We barbecued and tequila'd. Two grass stained knees, a sprained ankle and hoarse voice later the stars shone down on a magical evening. Aaaaaaah Jo Jo. This driver knows the beauty of economizing. Bring your toys wherever you go, and shop at Costco.

Tattoo, you?

In the days coming I'll be considering a new adornment to my 'Temple'. Some sort of indullable body grafitti is in order I believe, declaring the Temple fresh, meaty, witty, pretty, and gay. A marquis over the holyland declaring "Comedy Tonite" will be awash in ink and love.

This is my first applicant to the second, "Adorn Tony's Body Competition" I launched the first back in 99 and got some interesting submissions. I'm hoping all creative types I know out there will take ink to paper and design me something fun. The race is on. Let's see what the year brings us. I'll post the cut off date t.b.d.

President's Day

Washington and Lincoln, two great reasons to celebrate. Neither were surfers or notarys, but darn nice fellas nonetheless. This holiday is spent weeding the garden and slinging fish. MMmmmm but a good time.

Surfing USA..........................

In the course of my 12 Days I appear to be stymied by timing. My notary test was delayed by two weeks, my surfing today is delayed due to High Swells. My instructor for today was adament about not taking my out in the water with it being so high. When did teachers start to care about their students? What is this? Room 222?

KDog and I have rescheduled for two sundays from now, next Sunday is Shane's bday at my place and this involves the christening of Bob. Timing, Timing, Timing. I did what I do best lately. Instead of surfing I went shopping; two pairs of shoes, a topiary, two picture frames and a hernia I got for free moving the old dining room table out of here. I might just start to list the injuries instead of accomplishments. The 12 Days of Agony. Such a sebbeth...........................

Personalize Best...................

.......Remember when the going's get tough, the tough go shopping.

There's a Levitz Furniture in Glendale, south of the train tracks that has been going out of business for some time now. Well now it's actually true. I went perusing the damage yesterday and found a table that had some battlescars but was an interesting shape, it was square. It was a dining room table with promise. I took a shine to it. And left. There's a theory my mom has that if you want something, walk away from it and come back later. If it was meant to be, it will be there. This is all to limit impulse buying. It almost works on me.

I went today and found "Bob" still there. He was dusty and moved. I was worried that he had been sold, for the amazing 80.00 that they wanted for him. Mercifully he was still there and so relieved to see me. He truly fills my dining area, with joy and substance. With that leaf in Bob, he may as well be a cockfighting platform. Hee Hee. Cockfighting. Bob is named Bob for the squarelikeshape he holds so well. Spongebob homage intended, his nom du garre also extends from my nephew M, who has a thousand Beenie Babies and ALL named Bob. I had to sleep with seven Bob's when I stayed in his room on my last visit. Took me back to the early nineties. Hee Hee. Meet Bob and get ready to get to know him, he's got lots to spare.

If at first..................

So the State has seen fit to have me retake my notary exam. I propose to redo it in March. Back into the freak hole. Oh well, I have no problem with this, I have all year to succeed. We're earning our stripes this year.

Kudos to Deenie-baby (yes, of THOSE Castleberrys) who passed the exam and made her lawyer employer uber happy. YAY Deenie, brunch is soooon.

I trust I'm going to have success this weekend for the next of the 12 Days, as Mr. K-Dog teaches me the fine art of Surfing. At least it doesn't involve a number 2 pencil.
